The Bug Parade

The last week has been busy busy busy!  So busy I was neglecting to update our little blog with some super cute pictures from the girls Bug Parade at Calvary.  Of course Anna Kate was a huge ham and just danced her way around the little "parade route".
This is my personal favorite!  Anna Kate channeling Michael Jackson, I can almost see the zombie dance from Thriller

Not to be outdone, Elizabeth is the beautiful butterfly...

All in all a very cute fun day and I think the parents enjoyed it more than the kids...

We were very lucky this weekend to have an extra special guest, actually two!  Uncle Jim drove down to bring a PhD student, from Tunisia, here in the U.S. for a marketing conference, to Disney World and they stopped by for an overnight visit.  Anna Kate just clung to Uncle Jim and curled up on him as much as she could.  Elizabeth probably felt her little sisiter moving in on her territory!

Emme, from Tunisia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunisia) Very fun, cool girl!  We learned a lot and had a great time visiting with her.

The ol' ballgame

Lewis was so great this weekend and took me a spring training game at the Disney Wide World of Sports.  I love baseball so this was just one of the greatest gifts. This is one happy girl!
We got to the park and kept trying to find our seats or at the very least the section...hmmm well when you have lawn seats there is no section.  Oh well, the upside was that Lew happened to buy all you can eat tix and that helps because you can rack up some money with what food costs at a ballpark, never mind one owned by Disney.
This is just some of our loot: popcorn, peanuts, several waters, two hamburgurs, hotdogs...we paid for the coronas :)
Some A list Braves...
One of the highpoints of being on the lawn and at left field was the proximity to Johnny Damon.  To be honest he was extremely nice to the screaming high school girls in front of us and tipped his hat more than once. Lew said I got the wrong side of him, I disagree.
Happy day...
We were ready to do a vegetable garden this year but not ready to do raised beds so we ended up doing container gardeneing.  Aunt Mandy suggested growing from seeds making it more fun for Elizabeth. so while we had friends over we made a little event out of it for the kids.  Elizabeth, Julie, Anna Kate and Ethan each took turns putting their seeds into the soil/compost mixture.  Poor Elizabeth with the biggest pot and smallest legs and in a dress...
Are these just the cutest shoes ever???  We found $10 crocs at Big Lots and could not resist the hunny pot winnie the pooh version.
By the way, Anna Kate enjoying an Oreo...She actually loved the inside the most, good girl
I think I'm done with my little painting/multimedia piece.  It felt like one of the those things that you could keep adding to forever and never quite finish, so I had to decide that sometimes more is just more and when it felt finish I walked away.  I might do some more so be prepared for my "Bird Period."

Spring is a coming

Elizabeth's favorite day at school is always lunchbox day.  The prep that goes into what we are bringing for lunch is so big we spend a large part of the week just talking about it.  This was one of Anna Kate's first times so she got to bring the panda lunchbox...so cute :)

Everything was going well until Anna Kate started to run away but Elizabeth still holds the pose while trying to wrangle little sister
I'm still working on my little project and whenever I pull out the paints, Elizabeth wants to get in on the action.  She actually stays kind of clean while painting away.  I'm trying to get her into actually painting something besides large blobs of color.  I thought maybe she would paint a St. Patricks Day peep that sweet wonderful Aunt Cindy sent (I'm sorry we haven't called yet!!!)
Oh no, this is just the "hello, I'm going to eat you" look
Since about the only time I'm able to work on the piece is when Anna Kate naps on Sunday.  So I get about  two hours a week to work on it. I finished the birds and have about a third of the flowers down.  Then I will add in the tiny butterflys and add the orange, pink and blue highlight paints...I'm so excited it's coming together pretty cute...I might not be able to put it in Elizabeth's room in the end!

Ok, so my weekly Publix shopping trip was skewed by a wine stockup that needed to happen.  Overall just the food was $21.28, with $38.63 saved.  I didn't buy that much this week mostly because we have lots of food in the house and leftovers as well.  I'm sure I'll make another trip sometime this week.  FYI the wine came in at $49!!! I sure hope that lasts a while :)

He has no pictures...but Lewis ran the Victoria Park 5K, final time 30:41...he's hoping to keep up with Mandy during the Easter Beach Run!  I'll be cheering him on this year.

Posh Little Closet sale

I went to a "little" consignment sale today by Posh Little Closet.  Keep in mind this is only the non clothing stuff.  The entire back room was mostly kids clothes.  The majority of clothes was priced at $3...hard to resist.  I plan on consigning a lot more items next time :)  Hardly made enough to cover my loss.

I had absolutely no idea what to expect just that I wanted to find a Leapster video game system for Elizabeth for her birthday and some summer clothes.  Little did I know I would find these super cute pillow case dresses.  I have to learn how to make these.  So super cute.  Anna Kate even modeled hers for me tonight.

I haven't really splurged on Anna for clothes because lets face it, Elizabeth was spoiled with clothes and they were busting out of her closet.  There is little need to buy Anna Kate new things, but I still like to think it's fun to get her pretty things and try try try to make her a little girlie.

Maybe the next Jackie O?

Aaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!
Cool baby
Not that anything exciting is going on but I have few pictures to pass along.
When Elizabeth practices her arabesque position it becomes monkey see monkey do...
I tell people all the time about Anna Kate perching herself on the kitchen table but I turn my back on her and this is what happens all the time.  Her shins are sadly bruised the entire way and I'm sure it's because she pulls herself up and over tons of obstacles. I'm not really even afraid of her falling down anymore.
Anna Kate has discovered how to take off her shirt.  She decided to make it hoodie style...all she needs is big black sunglasses.  She may not be elegant yet but I think the t-shirt slipped over her head is a good start.  It's either Jackie O or the sandpeople from Star Wars and I like Jackie better.
I had really thought about not posting this but Elizabeth told me it looked like I painted a storm...

Hopefully I will have some actual information to post next time but until then these are the happenings in our house :)

Rough week, but we made it!

This was just one of those weeks when anything we said to Elizabeth was considered a minor suggestion and not actually what she should be doing.  I know that all parents have gone through this but seriously she took us to the limit this time.  So big deep breaths and calming thoughts, we need to see the lighter side of the week so I decided to show my personal highlight (ignore the dress that is two sizes to large and falling off).

My little girl likes to vacuum!  I know this makes me and Aunt Cindy very happy.

My yummy delicious homemade bread.  A small accomplishment, but one I'll take :)
Apparently there are no decent Peter Pan birthday invitations available.  There are lots of Tinkerbell and other random fairies but no real Peter Pan. I decided to make Elizabeth homemade invites this year.  Funny enough the hardest part was getting the text set up correctly.  They aren't perfect but I didn't have to do much and I think they came out kind of cute.  Sadly the powers that be don't really make decent Peter Pan stickers either.

My shopping trip was not as great as last week but I keep telling myself I had $10 in rebates.  So my true total was about $62, making me almost break even.  If you think I'm bad, one website I stalk actually posted her total as 35 cents because her total was negative and had to buy something to check out. I just love giving a cashier $25 in coupons.  I'm working on getting it lower and lower.

Um yes, she got up on the stool by herself and then had to play on the computer for awhile.
