The Advent time of year

It is the wonderful time of year when the countdown is on!  We were good and got up all the Christmas stuff pretty quick over the weekend and then out came Aunt Cindy's Advent calendar, filled with treats and yummy stuff.  You may remember this from last year when it was the first thing asked about each day of December and I made them take pictures before opening anything (I'm mean like that).
Since we put it up they've been stalking it like two stealthy snakes looking for dinner.
Look at Anna Kate and how she's eyeing it, haha.
Here is a typical day for me in the last week.
Both girls just hover near the treats,
they like to (pretend) to just sleep next to it...

Or tease me like they are going to open it even though they know the consquence is rather high.

When I try to document the sneaking around the advent calendar
Elizabeth wil resorte to "look how cute I am when I dance"...

Poor Anna Kate just hangs there like a busted deer.  Elizabeth continues to dance her way out of it.
Fight or flight...
tomorrow starts the madness.
Merry Christmas my friends!

Boro Vist

I decided that we were long overdue for a trip up to Statesboro to visit with our favorite Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jim.  We last came up in late May for Claire's graduation.

There are certain things that just must be done when we arrive at Aunt Cindy's, including nail painting.  I promise I paint their fingernails and toenails all the time!! Elizabeth always goes into Aunt Cindy's room and helps herself to the polish and requests some painting.  This time Aunt Kate was the painter.
Now Anna Kate must have everything that Elizabeth has so painting of nails is doubled.

The girls did not take long to scope out all the available toys and this time Elizabeth discovered the pogo sticks.  She worked up to jump three times without falling off which is better than me.

Meanwhile Anna Kate insisted on getting some bike riding in....which meant Kate and I took turns pushing her around.  Uncle Jim eventually strapped two blocks to the pedals so Elizabeth could ride around.

Later that afternoon we went to a fair at Mill Creek.  It was an international fair the University put on and the girls were really into the dancers and their costumes.  A big highlight was face painting.
Elizabeth requested a reindeer.

Anna Kate requested a butterfly.  I think Anna Kate won on the cuteness of painting.

Later that evening Aunt Cindy, Kate, Myself and the girls made turkey cookies.  They were so cute!! Sadly Kate and I required perfection and after the candy corms were put on the tails we dismissed the girls and finished them ourselves.

This is a view I will never get tired of, the road to Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jim's house.  Makes me breathe easier just looking at it.  Until next time Statesboro!!!

Trick or Treat!

The night we have been waiting for finally arrived!!  The girls were so patient and waited until I said it was time to get on their costumes.  Then we had to go outside for a little photo shoot to kill some more time.
Mrs. Anna Kate pretty much sums it up with this pose, we know who's in charge.
The back of her costume was so darling.  The funny thing was at the fall festival at her pre school she would not wear the pants, so her panties stuck out all night.  At least tonight she wore the pants!

Elizabeth felt the need to dance all night.  If she had on a costume she felt the need to bust out the ballet moves.  She kept taking these running leaps, which I'm sure have a name in ballet but I'll just call them scary.

She took five minutes to pose for me with her sweet little basket.  I kind of dropped the ball on getting her the picnic basket and toto...at least the borrowed basket looks pretty good with the costume.  She's a pretty good looking Dorothy if you ask me.

I have no more pictures after these from our little photo shoot cause it started to pour down rain.  Very sad, but the girls were troopers.  We put on our rain jackets and took an umbrella and off we went to get some candy!!
I just love little Anna Kate's face
HAPPY HALLOWEEN from my three spooks!
