Disney Day

We went to Disney on Sunday because we hadn't been well... since it snowed in Florida.  I think we missed the time when it's not so hot and not so crowded.  lt was warm and crowded to be sure.  We did have fun and to mix up went backwards around the park to try to see some things we are just to tired to see other times.
Anna Kate when she allowed me to hold her.
We decided to try to take Anna Kate on the race care speedway ride.  I think Lewis tried to drive and keep her from jumping out the entire time while Elizabeth asked me to be her driver the second we stepped foot in the car.  I sang to her "baby you can drive my car, yes I'm gonna be a star" and she just kept asking for the song the whole time. She doesn't know it but she'll be a huge Beatles fan one day.
The highlight of the trip was going to Belle's story time.  Elizabeth actually saw Beauty and the Beast on stage last week and was very up to date on the story (FYI - she was perfectly behaved at the stage performance.)  Belle's story time was very small and intimate and provided a show that the kids could really get in to, not lost in the crowd, and at the end Belle came back out to meet the kids and give them some special attention.

Wet N Wild!

Our neighbors are a lot of fun and each year they rent a giant water slide for their twins birthday party.  Last year I was a little shy about getting on but this year we all got into the slide.  Elizabeth started on the slide at about noon and ended about 6pm, put a fork in her she was done...
This is the slide...yes fun, very fun
Elizabeth was back up again as soon as her feet hit the ground

I was jealous and had to go a few times
Lewis even took Anna Kate on twice...she said a very clear "no" when he tried again
So they shared a sno cone
This is not a surprise because it happens every year but the ground gets very muddy where all the water is just dumping for 7 or so hours.  So eventually it gets on you...
It's like a little hippie from woodstock.

Elizabeth's Birthday Party - Peter Pan style!

Wow, so Elizabeth is actually (almost) 4 years old.  The time is going sooo fast for us but I think we've learned more about how to be a team and having fun, even on the not so fun parts.  Saturday was Elizabeth's birthday party (actual birthday is the 17th) and I think it was quite a bit of fun for all the little ones.  Some time ago she had decided she wanted a Wendy birthday party.   At first I didn't know what a Wendy party was but it didn't take long to realize it was Wendy Darling from Peter Pan, the whole thing just exploded from there.  She asked for and of course received a Wendy dress from Grandma.  It was so gorgeous on her.  If Elizabeth was in costume you have to bet the rest of the kids were gonna do it also.

Jake, Julia's little guy came as Peter Pan and was so adorable of course and Elizabeth's cousins Candace as Wendy and Gillian, the red fairy.
As part of the party the kids went on a treasure hunt guided by a very special Peter Pan and Captain Hook! Lewis was Captain Hook and his brother, Ralph, who I blame for volunteering in the first place was Peter Pan.  They were awesome and really got into it.  You could not ask for two better sports! If they were going to do it they were doing it all the way.

They were all given their own very specially made by Grandma bags to hold their loot when they got the treasure.  All I know is my budget went a long way with Easter candy on sale, their bags were really full!!
This is the map that birthday girl Wendy got to hold on their adventure.  They actually went all the way through both playhouses in the backyard.  It was quite the production...
I have a great friend that makes wonderful cakes, all I did was deliver the topper set. Thank you Erica!  She really is amazing.  I couldn't believe that you can't find anything with Peter Pan on it for a birthday party but you can buy a cake topper set...hmmmm come on Disney make the connection we don't all want Tinkerbell.
Just some random shots of a really fun day...
King Kong...I mean Anna Kate!

Thank you to both Red and White Grandma's for all the hard sewing work that went into making costumes and indian headbands and bags!!! Couldn't have done any of it without you! XOXO

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...

The smell of vinegar was all through the house which can only mean one thing...Easter egg dying time!!!
For the first time Elizabeth was actually interested, but at some point you are ready for them to drift off to playing while you make an egg that hasn't been in 5 different colors and basically grey.
Saturday was the Easter Beach Run.  Mandy and Lewis ran the big 4 mile race while I opted for the 2 mile fun run, which lived up to its name.  I had a great time and actually finished 3rd in my age, which is nothing to brag about but it really was fun.  Elizabeth ran her 4th race this year, starting when she was 11 months!  Mandy had a quilt made of t-shirts from many of the Easter Beach Run's she has ran.., Elizabeth was excited to see one of the shirts she has in the quilt.
mmmmm sand tastes yummy
Easter morning
The egg hunting continued over at Grandma and Grandpa's with Aunt Mandy and Uncle David.  I have just a ton of really cute pictures!  We had such a great time this weekend with David and Mandy and my Aunt being here from Iowa.  It's weekends like this I don't want to end.

Seriously, I could just eat them up...they were so cute!!!!
