My new little room

I'm not sure if everyone knows the extent of my love for all things crafty and art.  I like to scrapbook and draw, sew (badly) and whatever....so my stuff has kind of taken over the third room we have upstairs.  Lewis thought it was high time he got an organizational system for me :)  Yay, Me!!

It has actually morphed a little since we did this.  One of the baskets didn't quite like it's home so we had to move things around and put in a few more shelves.  But I'm so excited.  Plus now we have enough room that we bought a daybed with trundle from a friend and it fits wonderfully in the room.  Those pictures are coming, once I get some bedding for it.

One of Elizabeth's projects from school...

Poor miss Anna Kate took a spill on her scooter on Sunday...hard to tell from the picture but the poor thing is scraped up on her right (pictures left) side of her face, plus she must of landed directly on her mouth because her lips (right side again) are super swollen. Watching her drink the first day was funny.

Our rainy day at the Orlando Science Center

We did not have school on Monday, so 3 other friends and I decided to take ALL 7 of our kids, (ranging from 2 to 6) to the Orlando Science Center.  So we started out and it was pouring down rain, making our trip over slightly scary.  We found out we were under tornado warnings while we were there.  I'm actually happy we decided on an indoor activity.  There are tons of hand on activities, although we felt a little like we were herding kittens and there were some meltdowns from time to time.

This is all 7 of the kids at the dinosaur excavation.

Anna Kate working on the cars, Grandpa would have been proud!

Anna Kate loved the alligators and I'm really thankful because beyond their area were the snakes.  I'm not a fan and sometimes find it hard to breathe around them.  So I was just as happy to sit with her and stare at the gators.

If you are wondering, yes we are working on getting rid of the pacifier.  We decided that if she could actually say the word pacifier, she may be to old to have one.  I realized that I had almost no pictures of Elizabeth and thinking back she was zipping around from place to place so fast it was almost impossible to get her stand still for a photo!  I guess it only gets harder from here on out.

The Sadness

A moment has come that I cannot ignore or act like it didn't happen.  I use this blog as a way to remember moments and if I did not make a post it would feel wrong.  Most everyone that checks in on this blog already knows the news, Dad passed away on January 10, 2011 after being sick for quite a long time.  I choose to remember the happy moments and fun times we had as a family.
There is a huge hole left in our hearts but we will continue on and make him proud.

1st post of 2011

Happy New Year! or December 34th, 2010!

January 1st, becoming a tradition, the day Lew gets to celebrate his birthday gift...
Tickets to the Capital One Bowl game, this year Alabama vs. Michigan St.

This year's game was much more enjoyable than last... a nice 78 degrees.   The seats were excellent once again!  You can see the spot was very close to the previous year.

Too bad most of the action took place at the opposite end of the field, but we did get to see some great SEC football.  (I cannot believe that Michigan State only lost one game heading into this one, they were destroyed by Alabama)   Plus this field is now a turf field vs. last year it was grass and was tore up to pieces, but muddy football is the best football.

Anyway, the game was great, and we enjoyed having the day to hang out with each other.  We really got to know our neighbors we were sitting next to...lets just say there is no personal space in the stands.  (Thanks "White" Grandma for watching the girls.)

Remembered but never forgotten..... 2010 freezing our butts off!!!
