Lewis' baby boy

Lewis finally broke the seal on his home brew kit!  And while there were some "learning" curve experiences I think we actually have a decent beer that should be ready in about another week or so.  That's the crummy part of brewing your own...the wait.  I wasn't around for the cooking portion but I was there for bottling day!
It's a dark English Ale, think New Castle

The proud daddy

We didn't actually bottle all of these.  Each kit will brew a different amount.  The max is like 53 and we have about about 70 ish bottles out.  We only ended up bottling 43, or close to it.  we didn't really know what we were doing so we just took out all the bottles and cleaned them.

Just so you don't think we're guessing, Lewis actually had to do math and take calculations.  We know the percentage of alcohol in our beer! It is 4.5%

Every moment of doing something new was "fake it till you make it".
It only took about two bottles before Lew got the hang of it and I was actually capping them, although no one took my picture doing it if they are screwed up.

Here's to hoping our first batch is a success! We'll know in about a week and half...the waiting continues.  We must be adults to delay gratification this long.
